Planting Trees, Absorbing Carbon.
Carbon Sequestration For Your Family and Mine.
Climate change is so big and overwhelming an issue that it can be hard to know where to start. Carbon Tree Ranch offers an easy, satisfying way for families to understand their own household’s carbon footprint and plant trees to mitigate it—through Carbon sequestration. Our program brings the global problem down to a household level, giving family members of all ages a more digestible understanding of the issue and the opportunity to work together to make an impact.
Offset Your Personal Carbon
-
What are the sources of CO2 your household is creating? Airplane travel is #1 for us. Followed by natural gas for our furnace, two cars that burn gasoline, package deliveries, and food production.
-
Our tools calculate household CO2 generated (by fuel type), and the 10-year offset based on type of tree planted.
-
With our household carbon emission calculation in hand, we know the number of trees we need to plant each year.
We are currently using partners for planting, however longer term we will plant trees and propagate from seed. -
We are using species specific carbon sequestration estimates from the EPA, US Forest Service, iTree, and other sources to guage our impact with each tree planted.
Our aspiration is to use sensors to provide tree-level CO2 stored in the ground as well as the wood of the tree. With visual representation to see our progress.
Our Family’s Impact Since 2022
-
1,250 Trees Planted
-

About the Ranch
We are starting with our household as the case study, but the goal is to help households grow their own forests to offset the CO2 they generate.
